Geographic Number Porting
If you are relocating your office (or simply moving home) you may face the issue of how to keep your number ~ you may even have been advised that the only way to retain you number when you move offices is through BT's Remote Call Forwarding service - but, we're pleased to say, that's not so.
Some key questions to ask if you are considering using BT's Remote Call Forwarding service is:-
- What is the minimum contract term? (Is it measured in months or years? Is this good for your business or you?)
- What are the monthly service charges? (Wow - how much!?!)
- What are the (pence per minute) call charges? (Wow again!)
- How is the service used/managed? Is it convenient, instant and secure?
Once these questions have been answered ~ compare them to our proposition (here is our example for a simple landline).
- Eden migrates your landline (in around a week) onto our own telecommunications platform for £15 + VAT. (This will automatically cease the line rental service with your current provider).
- Eden allocates your number to our Inbound Call Management service called Contact Point and you can access and manage how calls to your number are routed ~ £5.25 per month (plus 1.5 pence per minute for calls re-directed to a landline).
Eden can migrate landline numbers from:-
- BT OpenReach (the vast majority of telecoms operators are using/providing lines from BT OpenReach, so this will likely be you)
- Thus
- Thus (Your Comms)
- Virgin Media (formerly NTL)
- Virgin Media (formerly Telewest)
There is a formal industry process (known as Geographic Number Porting or GNP) which will allow Eden to take operational control of your valuable telephone number(s) where they can be "pointed" at alternative landline numbers to ensure no calls are missed.
Lead Times for Porting Your Landline Numbers to Eden Telecommunications
The Lead Time for number porting will vary according to the line type. The Lead time is dictated by a strict industry process which seeks to ensure both the "losing" and "gaining" communication providers have time to validate and prepare for the port.
